After earning a Masters' degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin, she worked in store operations for H.E. Butt Grocery Co., a major supermarket chain in South Texas. In her years with H.E. Butt, she became well-acquainted with the Hispanic ethnic market preferences, particularly in choices and selections of meats.
Her interests now lie in sustainable agriculture and small ruminant health care. She moderates an Internet-based network of experienced goat and sheep producers who field health- and care-related questions Sophie and her husband live near Rogersville, where they raise Tennessee Fainting Goats, hair sheep and cattle. |
