Derial
Bivens is a highway/mapping engineer currently serving as Emergency Services
Program Manager for the Tennessee
Department of Transportation. A 1981 graduate of the National Imaging and
Mapping College, he completed graduate-level work at the US Army Engineer School
and the US Army Ordnance School. With ten promotions in 22 years, he retired
from the US Army Corps of Engineers in 2002 as a captain after serving in
various Active and Reserve assignments in the U.S. and abroad.
He is the Member Services Chairman of
the U.S. Boer Goat Association, and is an author/contributor/collaborator with
the 1890 Consortium of universities conducting goat research.
He and his wife Donna Kay live in
Lancaster, TN where they operate the Lancaster Goat Co. with their partners
Larry Willis and Mike and Glenda Parman. They have two sons, Daniel, who is
serving in the US Army at FT Campbell following a tour in Iraq; and Joshua, who
is continuing his studies in Europe.
